House Dunkeld, Johannesburg, emerged from a difficult beginning after the original family home was destroyed in a fire. The project became an opportunity to reimagine the house as a calm, contemporary family residence that responds closely to its generous garden setting. The design focuses on light-filled interior spaces, carefully framed views across expansive lawns, and a sequence of crafted living areas that flow effortlessly between indoors and outdoors. Natural light, proportion, and material detail were used deliberately to create warmth and comfort throughout the home. The result is a refined yet welcoming luxury residence that transformed a devastating loss into a positive new chapter for the family.
