LAND AND PEOPLE
CONSULTANCY
FOR PROJECTS
THAT CHANGE
THE GROUND
PEOPLE LIVE
ON.

Resettlement, livelihood restoration, heritage, programme and cost — carried out in consultation with project affected people, and documented to a standard that stands up to lender scrutiny.
WHY IT SITS WITH US
A DESIGN
PRACTICE, NOT A
REPORT FACTORY
Most resettlement work is written by people who will never design what replaces what was lost. We do both. The same team that plans a household's move can draw the house, the classroom and the water point at the end of it — which means the plan is tested against what can actually be built, and the budget it will actually take.`
That combination is why mining and infrastructure clients in South Africa and Zambia bring us in early. Land and People is not a sideline to our architecture — it is half of what the studio does.

HOW WE WORK
LISTEN, RECORD, PLAN, VERIFY
STEP 1
ON THE
GROUND
We meet the affected households where they live, and we listen before we propose anything.
STEP 2
RECORD PROPERLY
Census, assets, land use and livelihoods, documented so that entitlements can be defended later.
STEP 3
DESIGNED, NOT DESCRIBED
The replacement is drawn and costed by the same team, so the plan is buildable.
STEP 4
HELD TO ACCOUNT
Monitoring after the move, against the commitments actually made.
