Nick Brits
Founding Partner
Nick Brits brings a rare combination of architectural expertise, construction leadership, and entrepreneurial thinking to Horizon Studio. With more than a decade of experience leading luxury residential design and construction projects, Nick understands not only how great buildings are conceived — but how they are delivered successfully from concept through to completion.
Originally trained in architecture at the University of Pretoria, Nick built his early career in architectural practice before founding and leading his own design and construction businesses. As Managing Director of Evolve Habitats and previously Director of Evolve Architects, he has overseen the design and construction of numerous high-end residential projects, including large private homes in Johannesburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Western Cape, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Namibia.
Nick’s work sits at the intersection of architecture and construction. His experience managing complex projects — from feasibility and design coordination to construction management and final delivery — gives him a deep understanding of how to translate ambitious architectural ideas into built reality.
Nick leads the team that consults with one of the worlds leading mining companies on innovative and sustainable resettlement housing and stakeholder engagement.
Known for his strategic mindset and strong industry network, Nick also plays a key role in business development and project strategy. He has led teams across architecture, construction and development, bringing together consultants, contractors and clients to achieve exceptional outcomes.
At Horizon Studio, Nick focuses on cultivating client relationships, identifying new opportunities and ensuring that projects are delivered with the highest standards of quality and coordination.
Outside of architecture, Nick is an avid ultra-distance runner and outdoor enthusiast who enjoys trail running and exploring the natural landscapes that continue to inspire his work.
