House Mills-Sherry

House Mills-Sherry in Craighall Park, Johannesburg, was conceived for a young professional couple seeking a well-designed home that remained modest in budget while embracing their love of outdoor living. The house was constructed using a light steel frame system, allowing for simple architectural forms and efficient construction. The design centres on open-plan interior spaces that flow onto a deep, end-to-end covered veranda, creating a continuous indoor–outdoor living environment. A swimming pool sits directly off the veranda, with landscaped gardens and a series of steps gently leading up to the house, reinforcing the connection between architecture and landscape. Each room opens onto the veranda with views into the garden, creating a calm and light-filled home that feels both understated and carefully crafted.
